Borisov women social public association “Provincia”

Description:

A teacher, several journalists, students, a bookkeeper are working in “Provincia”. From 4 up to 8 volunteers with special experience take part in our activities. They are a lawyer, psychologists, and social workers. Every year more than 200 persons take part in our programs. And more than 1500 people benefit from it mediately.

Aims and objectives:

The aims of “Province” are civil education of women and youth, assistance in their development and growth of their public consciousness.

Main activities:

• Women crisis hotline (to help women who are the victims of domestic violence).
• Prevention of human trafficking (seminars for women and youth on problems of migration, seminars for teachers and social workers). 
• Assistance to victims of human trafficking. Now we help more than 80 victims.
• Development and  publication of handbooks for police, social workers, psychologists for work with victims of sexual abuse.
• Development of the third sector in Borisov region (trainings for the youth organizations’ leaders and young informal leaders).
• Civil development of women (seminars on gender problems).
• Education of boys and girls on gender perspective. 
• Seminars-trainings for jobless youth “Effective search of work” and others. The majority of them works now.
