Description:
Gender Studies Concentration includes educational courses, public lectures, and practical workshops. In the framework of the courses, students consider the changes that took place in politics, art, and perception of sexuality regarding transformations in gender relationships in the 20th-21st centuries. Practical workshops will introduce organizations and initiatives that work with gender issues in Belarus.
Concentration courses will allow students to learn the basics of gender theory and learn to analyze contemporary Belarusian reality from the gender perspective.
More than 300 participants took part in Gender Studies Module activities in 2017/2018, including 30 experts from NGOs, gender organizations, and initiatives.
Our principles:
Awareness and availability. Free educational events for everyone. We widely disseminate information to enable everyone to participate.
Partnership. We cooperate with Belarusian gender organizations and hold joint activities.
Enhancement of visibility and assertiveness. We attract a lot of new and not publicly visible female and male experts and activists; we coach and support male and female speakers.
Aims and objectives:
Improve participants’ knowledge of gender theory and contribute to professional development of NGO activists who work with gender topics.
Create a platform for networking, support, experience exchange and partnership for participants, which strengthens their professional activity.
