Description:

In May 2008, the initiative group “Women of Dvabzu” was created in Ozurgeti region, village Dvabzu. The group united organizations of the same values – “Dvabzu’s Women’s Centre” – and the donor – Women’s fund “Taso”. The women’s club and youth club were created. Through film screenings and discussions women were informed about women’s rights, domestic violence and trafficking. In December 2009, with the financial support of the women’s fund “Taso” second 6 month long project “Strengthening Village Women for Political Engagement” was implemented.

In January 2010 the initiative group registered as a legal entity with the name of “Women for Regional Development”. Since that time a lot of projects have been implemented: “Women of Nasakirali”, “Campaign for the Protection of Women’s Rights in Guria”, “Research, Analysis and Monitoring of Gender Budgeting” (2011-2012), “Promotion of Organizational Development and Issuing of Grants”, “Learn More and Be Careful” (2013), “Talking and Acting to Overcome Gender Violence” (2015), “Pre-school Education for Every Child” (2016).
